The NHL is put up with a night of activity on Friday night. Four matches are up on the board at total for February 14. One of those matchups will be between the San Jose Sharks and the Winnipeg Jets. These two teams have had their ups and downs this year, but will seem to obtain a win. This match will start at approximately 7:00 PM Eastern time on Friday night.
San Jose has started out this season with a list of 24-28-4, which has place of the Pacific Division sitting. The Sharks are just two factors behind the Anaheim Ducks, who are in sixth at the Pacific, however, San Jose is twelve factors from this wild card spot. The Sharks will try to bounce back with a big win on Friday night and are coming off a loss in their last one.
The Jets have made a record of. Winnipeg is now sitting in fourth place of their Central Division. The Jets are just six factors. Winnipeg is one point from the wild card spot. The Jets lost their last match, which finished a match winning streak. This should lead to an exciting on Friday night.
These two teams are from the playoff standings but may make a push. While San Jose requires a large winning streak and some help to get back into it the Jets are right in the race. I expect both teams to attempt to come out fast in this you to make a huge win. San Jose and winnipeg are currently coming off losses in their games, which should help motivate them Friday night.
The Sharks and the Jet fulfilled for the first time this season. These two teams needed a back and forth game. Barclay Goodrow and Tomas Hertl equally scored to keep the game at 2-2 late in the third party. While Nikolaj Ehlers finished off the Sharks having a target late kyle Connor had two assists to the Jets. Connor Hellebuyck stopped 51 of the 53 shots he faced for Winnipeg in a 3-2 win.
The next game of the season show remained on November 27 in San Jose. However, it was not as close, this time around. The scoring opened for the Sharks, but has been all San Jose could muster up. Patrik Laine had a goal and two assists, while Blake Wheeler and Kyle Connor both had two things to give the Jets a nice 5-1 win.
The Jets are in a position to control the season series first two matches. San Jose managed to win the season series year, when the Sharks were a playoff team but that was. This year has fallen and will appear to avoid the season sweep. I believe that the Sharks have a opportunity to pull the upset on the road however.
San Joses power play has not been great for this point in the summer so far. The Sharks have capitalized on 25 in their 149 opportunities, and it can be a 16.8 percent power play percent. San Joses penalty kill has had a solid season. The Sharks have just allowed their opponents to score 26 of the 181 chances, which is an 85.6% kill rate.
The Jets special teams have not been great this season. Winnipegs power play has been able to score about 34 of the 176 attempts, and it can be a 19.3 percent achievement rate. The Jets penalty kill has been even worse. Winnipeg has enabled opposing teams to capitalize 37 of the 147 chances, which can be a 74.8 percent penalty kill percentage.
Both of these teams have struggled throughout the season on the power play, however, the Jets have a greater power play percentage. San Jose has a far better penalty kill however. I dont expect either team however it may be the deciding factor, if team can get one together with the man advantage.
I expect Aaron Dell to get the nod in the crease to get San Jose on Friday night. Dell has set up a record of 11-11-2 throughout 24 starts this season. In these 24 begins, Dell has made a save percentage of .909 plus a 2.88 GAA. Dells last start came from the Calgary Flames, where he stopped 31 of the 37 shots he faced in a loss.
Connor Hellebuyck will probably get the start in net for the Jets in this matchup. Hellebuyck has published a list of. Hellebuyck has put up a .919 save percentage along with a GAA of all 2.71 this year. Hellebuycks last start came against the New York Rangers, where he turned off.
These two goalies are strong. Hellebuyck has earned this season to the much better stats, but looking at Dells stats as well as the Sharks list makes it just as impressive. The two goalies will look to rebound in a major way to help give their clubs a triumph and are coming off begins in their last trip.
I believe that the Sharks have a good chance to avoid the sweep on Friday, although the Jets could shoot the first two matches of the season series against San Jose. I do not expect teams to play a role in this match, however when either team breaks , I think that it will be San Jose. The Sharks are going to have the ability to win this one, if Dell will bounce back after allowing six goals in his last game.
BetOnline has recorded as a -140 from the money in this game. This means that the Jets will win this game around 58.3% of their time. Winnipeg is in the home in this one, making sense, however I think that San Jose can win it. The Jets have been inconsistent as of late and if the Sharks can strike early, I think they will pull the upset.
